Together Energy
Clydebank based Together Energy (Ltd in April 2016) is a UK energy provider that prides itself on long term peace of mind when it comes to fixed energy terms of 2 and 3 years. It claims to have the cheapest 2 year and 3 year fixed energy deals.
They state that 'We have always offered the cheapest 2 and 3 years fixed deals in the UK' however at the time of checking (September 2020) the cheapest 2 year fixed deal is from Yorkshire Energy with their 'Green Settle - Fixed until 30th September 2022' tariff costing £74.41 a month.
Together Energy's 2 year fixed comes out at £83.17 a month, almost £10 a month more expensive. Our calculations are based on an average household using 3,100 kWh of electricity a year and 12,000 kWh of gas a year based in the Eastern Region.
At the time of checking I also found London Power's 'my london fixed 24 month plan august 2020 v1' at £75.88 a month and Green's 'Ferraris' 24 month tariff at £76.03 a month as well as 10 other 2 year fixed deals cheaper than Together Energy.
I'm not picking out Together Energy specifically here but just making you aware how important it is to independently compare energy prices yourself and not rely on what energy companies tell you.
Together Energy Tariffs
Together Energy has 4 energy tariffs at the time of writing. They have a 1, 2 and 3 year fixed tariff where the unit price and standing charge are fixed and a variable rate tariff where the unit price and standing charge can go up or down.
The 'Green Together' tariffs include 100% UK sourced renewable electricity backed by REGO certificates. They have also made a promise to offset their gas supply at no extra cost to customers by August 2023 and have plans to start providing biogas but no timeframe has been set.

Together Energy's Green Together 1 year fixed tariff for March 2021 costs £84.66 for the average UK household. Compared to 6 months ago the monthly cost has increased by about £12 making it noticeably more expensive.
Green Together Fixed July21 v4
Currently their best value tariff is their 1 year fixed 'Green Together Fixed July21 v4' tariff which is currently (September 2020) the tenth cheapest overall energy tariff in the UK and the sixth cheapest 1 year fixed tariff.
Their Green Together Fixed July21 v4 tariff does however have a £30 per fuel exit fee whereas there are currently two cheaper fixed 1 year tariffs on the market with no exit fees and are slightly cheaper.
For the average UK household this tariff would cost £72.14 a month (£865.68 a year) which is, as mentioned earlier, one of the top 10 cheapest energy deals currently available.

The Green Together 25 April23 tariff is their 2 year fix for March 2021. The average dual fuel tariff would cost £86.04 a month, not a significant increase in the cost over a 6 month period so better value compared to their 12 month fixed rate.

The 'Green Brexit Protect 25 Month July22 v2' tariff is Together Energy's 2 year fixed rate energy plan. The cost of this 2 year fix is £83.17 a month (£998.04 a year) for the average UK household.

Their 3 year fixed deal now costs £88.86 which is about £2 a month cheaper compared to 6 months ago. The Green Together 36 March24 tariff offers better value and is the only fixed price deal they offer that has actually decreased in price.
Brexit Protect 36 Month May23
The longest term rate is 'Brexit Protect 36 Month May23' which is a 3 year fixed term tariff. The longer you fix any energy tariff the more expensive it becomes. You will have a higher kWh unit price for the gas and electricity you use and a higher standing charge for gas and electric.
Longer term fixes are more costly because the energy provider has to buy the energy in advance. As no-one knows how expensive energy will be in the future a premium is charged to protect the profits of each company in the energy supply chain.
The Together Energy Brexit Protect 36 Month May23 costs £90.53 a month (£1,086,36 annually) which is surprisingly not their most expensive tariff.

March 2021 update: A slight decrease in Together's variable rate tariff with a price drop of almost £2 a month down to £88.86 for a typical UK household.
The most expensive tariff offered by Together Energy is the 'Freedom Variable' tariff costing £93.32 a month (£1,119.84 per year). It's not the most expensive tariff on the market but one of the most expensive (Ebico Zero Green Fixed v5 from Ebico Energy is the most expensive on the market at £120.94 a month) . It's not a tariff you would willingly switch to, it's likely just their for show to make their other tariffs look more attractive.
Together Energy Reviews
Reviews online for Together Energy are not positive, the main complaints recently listed are mostly to do with lack of communication from the company and being unable to contact them.
Their Trustpilot rating as of September 2020 is rated poor with a rating of 2.4 out of 5 over 8,322 reviews. Google gives them a rating of 1.1 out of 5 over 453 reviews offering similar complaints about lack of communication and mistakes on bills.
As I mentioned earlier they also claim to have the cheapest 2 and 3 year fixed price tariffs when they clearly do not.
